Mini Cruise Night 7/26/2014

My sheep hear My voice, and I know them and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. I and My Father are one. (John 10:27-30)

Otherwise known as Cruise Night Pt. 2, the Burbank Classic Car show is always a lot of fun.

Although smaller in size than the Glendale event, the Burbank show has an arguably higher caliber of vehicles.

Electric cars are very popular this year!

Over 2,000 Giant $100 bills saturated the show. Notice the extra bill in this man's other hand. Many people clamored for seconds!

Tonight's team included: Mark, Dean, Sai, Dr. Jack, Barbara, McKinley, Richard, Jorge, Jeremy, and Steve.

"A Difficult Doctrine" - Nahum 1:6

Pastor Tim has been passionately preaching about the reality of the coming destruction in the Lake of Fire for all who reject the free gift of salvation provided by the atoning work of Jesus Christ. You can find this by clicking on the "Listen - Sunday Sermon" link on the home page of the CBC Website. These two sermons (7/20 & 7/27) provide lots of valuable material for us to share from the box, and in personal witnessing.

Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone. The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it. . .And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. . . Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 19:20, 20:10-12,14-15)

The Morning Shift - NoHo Station 7/23/2014

As always, the Lord blessed the morning proclamation of the Gospel. Many tracts and Bibles were received. Jeremy, Richard, Paul and Steve comprised the team. As often happens, the Jehovah's Witnesses were passing out their literature. When we finished praying, they were absent. Lately, though, they have decided to stand on this side of the entrance to the subway, within earshot of the preaching. Our prayer is that the Holy Spirit will draw some to question their dogma.

Please Note:  The Wednesday Morning NoHo Metro Station outreach will go on hiatus during the month of August, but will resume in September, Lord willing.

Abortuary Duty  7/26/2014

Brother Don is the strong and godly leader of this outreach, having followed in the footsteps of brother Tony Miano who is presently involved in other ministries. During the month of August brother Don will be carrying on alone in his mission to stand as a voice crying in the wilderness, a watchman seeking to be an intercessor of God's grace and judgment to those who seek to murder their child. If you have a heart for these children, please prayerfully consider joining in this important ministry. It has been confirmed by numerous victories that when believers stand outside these clinics, their mere presence causes some to reconsider this terrible "choice," and turn away. Don has light weight signs you can hold, so all you need to do is to follow the Lord and respond to the call.

The FPA clinic is located at 10200 Sepulveda Blvd., Mission Hills. Don is outside the clinic every Tuesday and Saturday morning from 8am to 10am. This is the time of the week when surgical abortions are scheduled. Street parking is available nearby.

Living Waters video:  College Campus One2One

Brother Tony Miano spoke to a young woman on a local College campus. He presents a thoughtful and coherent "Good Person Test."

HB Open Air #22 - Ray Prays with Nigie

Ray Comfort's recent presentation is instructive in several ways. He works without an amp (Whitefielding), he places a box for the heckler to stand on, he uses graphics, and he keeps the encounter rather brief.

One thing common to both these presentations is the tone of sincere concern for the person they are witnessing to. They remember and frequently use the person's name. They listen carefully to the answers given and respond based upon the person's answer. They make this look easy, but as we all know, it's tough to keep focused when you are trying to communicate one-to-one with a crowd of people watching. One suggestion for the memory-impaired: keep a small pad of paper handy to jot down a name, or key word or scripture to stay focused on. And keep the tone friendly.

Praise Report!

This email was sent to Dave by a brother in Colorado. He forwarded it to us as it demonstrates the effectiveness of tracts!

Brother David,

I met this guy awhile back who lived near us here in Florissant.  He was retired but was a Creationist and a Botanist.  His name is Steve Austin, so I emailed him that there was a Creation tour in the Springs by the other famous "Steve Austin."

It turns out that he has moved over to Grand Junction and he couldn't make it, however, he had met the other Steve Austin some years ago. But, the cool thing is, years ago, he drove a bus in Denver and part of his job when he finished his route was to clean out the bus.  One day when he was cleaning out his bus, someone left a Bible Tract in the back.  He got the tract, read it, and he GOT SAVED!  PTL

Join Us!

Join us as we resume our regular Saturday evening outreach to the Burbank AMC Mall. Mark will be leading and Jeremy will be providing the tech support. The Wednesday Morning NoHo Metro Station outreach will go on hiatus during the month of August, but will resume in September, Lord willing. Please check the schedule in the right column for updates.

Cruise Night 7/19/2014

The Lord always blesses the outreach on Cruise Night in Glendale.

Glory to God! Many thousands of tracts, DVD's, and Bibles were distributed by the team. Co-Laborers included: Barbara, Jack, McKinley, Mark, Jeremy, Razmik, Richard, Don, Ruth, Jani, Sharon, Debbie, Dean, Sai, Anne and Steve.

All of us were blessed by the eagerness with which people clamored for the Giant $100 bills, as well as the many different items displayed at the booth.

Thanks to brother Richard's sharp eye, we obtained some cool hats for all the team members to wear.

The tracts were flying out faster than we could keep up! Roughly 7,500 of the Giant $100 bills alone were handed out one by one.

Special thanks to Razmik and Richard for helping set up, and to Dean, Sai, Sharon, Debbie, Richard, Jeremy, Jack and Barbara for sticking around to help pack up the booth and lug everything back to the van.

The Morning Shift - NoHo 7/16/2014

As usual, the NoHo Metro Station was a beehive of commuters, as well as a spiritual battleground.

The team included Tim and Paul, above, as well as brother Jeremy and Steve. Tim was the new guy and the Lord blessed him with several one-to-one discussions.

News Updates

Recent articles provide developments in the Colorado Bakery persecution case, and fallout from the Hobby Lobby case Supreme Court victory.

Understanding The Times

Brothers and sisters, this episode of Jan Markell's show will galvanize you to the urgency of our mission. Although we have a great time of fellowship, and comparatively light if non-existent affliction in the streets, the storm clouds are quickly forming. Jan Markell interviews Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel, Chino Hills.

Pastor Ed forwarded this great article from Creation Evolution Headlines Blog, which shows the lengths to which the anti-creationists will go to deny the evidence.

Join Us!

Another Car Show will take place this Saturday, July 26th, in our own backyard, Downtown Burbank. We'll have plenty more tracts to distribute so please join us at 6:00pm for prayer and then a fun evening of classic cars, and evangelism!

A Beautiful Wedding 7/12/2014

"Have you not read that He who made them at the beginning 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh'? So then, they are no longer two but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate." (Matthew 19:4-6)

This week the CBC Evangelism Team had the rare privilege of playing a background role in the wedding reception of Jordan and Isabel, as they celebrated their nuptials at Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Parlor, directly across from our usual location at the AMC Mall.

Congratulations and blessings to the newlyweds from all the team!

Pastor Tim and his wife Tina were there as well, and they stopped by to give us encouragement.

Numerous one-to-one conversations took place. Glory to God!

On The Box

Thanks to the new headset mic, the amp sounded much better and the Gospel was proclaimed.

We were joined by new CBC member Billy, who enjoyed handing out tracts.

Dean braved the corner of Magnolia and San Fernando, this time on the North side. Our usual corner was occupied by yet another guitarist.

Sister Sai was her usual joyful self, faithfully handing out tracts alongside her husband.

Thanks to our brother Jeremy for the great camerawork!

Israel News

In response to our plea for some worthwhile news sources for the latest information about the developing Middle East conflict our brother Razmik sent this blog article: Trusted Middle East News Outlets. There are several links contained in it with brief descriptions of each source. Thanks Razmik!

Abortuary Duty  7/12/2014

Our brother Don, from Faith Community Church, who leads the twice weekly rescue at the Mission Hills abortion clinic, was pleading with a young man in the car, who had dropped off a young woman. Although the outcome to this encounter was inconclusive, at least two other couples emerged from the clinic after being given materials that show the developing child in the womb. Don courageously challenges the men who are involved in these murders, appealing to their conscience and pride, using tough love. Occasionally he is threatened, but Don's experience as a former police officer, along with his abiding faith in the Lord's sovereignty and grace, allow him to remain calm.

Morning Shift - NoHo 7/9/2014

Strange photo, I know. But this is a close-up of the new spikes that are embedded in the concrete berms along the side of the North Hollywood Metro Station. We'll see if these help to discourage loiterers using drugs in the area. Meanwhile we will keep preaching the Good News to commuters on Wednesday Mornings. Jeremy, Richard and Paul, joined Steve at the station, bright and early, to share the Gospel with blurry-eyed travelers and the many Jehovah's Witnesses who pass out their Watchtower publications. Sobering to consider that the battle for men's souls is a non-stop effort. And yes, I did forget to take a picture of the guys witnessing this week.

Apologetics Corner

Here are some great articles which show that Jesus taught a young earth creation, and a statistical confirmation based on the number of graves and remains that are missing if the World is as old as the evolutionists believe.
