Declare His Deeds 9/20/2014

The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You. Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion! Declare His deeds among the people. When He avenges blood; He remembers them, He does not forget the cry of the humble. (Psalm 9:9-12)

Dr. Jack, Richard, and Steve M. took up positions in front of the Town Center Mall for some great stop-light preaching opportunities.

God was glorified before hundreds of souls by the preaching of the word, one to one conversations, and the distribution of tracts.

Dr. Jack is great with kids and he spoke with these youngsters after one brave kid volunteered for the classic Good Person test which drew a large crowd.

Meanwhile, Mark and Steve were taking turns upon the box.

Curiously, this young man decided to grace us with some "gospel" tunes on his melodica. Though perhaps well-intentioned, it took the form of a distraction and, after prayers were silently offered, the young man moved on down the avenue to a place with less competition.

Many one-to-ones took place. Tracts and Bibles were distributed.

Brother Vinny joined us again, and dominated the intersection. Vinny's presentation of the Gospel is tough, taking no prisoners. This type of approach always draws some and offends others. As a former gang member he can challenge young men by calling them out on the sins he knows they are involved in. Numerous encouragers and hecklers interacted with the team members while Vinny was on the box.

Thanks to Jeremy for the great photos!

Saturday, October 4th - Instead of our usual Burbank outreach we will be meeting in Glendale at the Central Avenue entrance to the Galleria Mall, across from the Americana. There is a large sidewalk area at the stoplight between Broadway and Colorado. Large groups of shoppers gather at the light waiting to cross back and forth between the two malls. Please join us on the Galleria side at our usual start time of 6:00 pm. If you can join us for prayer, please meet in the CBC parking lot at 5:00 pm for prayer, and then caravan to the mall. We will NOT be returning to CBC after witnessing. See you there!

The Morning Shift  9/10/2014

Please join us on Wednesday mornings at 6:00 AM at the North Hollywood Metro Station on Lankershim Blvd. It's a great opportunity to share the truth with the thousands of commuters who pass through this area.

You can be sure the the cultists will be there passing out literature. In fact they are always there, literature in hand, when we arrive. Are we prepared to do for the truth what they do for a lie?

Abortuary Duty  9/13/2014

Counseling occurs under a variety of circumstances. Here Don is responding to an opportunity to plead with a young man who had just dropped off a woman in what we sadly refer to as the "drop and kill zone." He conveyed the idea that "real men" take responsibility. Although he claimed not to be the father of the child, Don pointed out to him that his participation by enabling the abortion makes him an accomplice to murder in God's eyes. Don exhorts such men to do the right thing and go up to the clinic and plead with the woman to change her mind. Sometimes this happens, and a victory is celebrated. Sadly, this man drove away, so we can only assume that he did not even try.

Lucy is a long time pro-life activist who is very bold in approaching and counseling expectant mothers as they approach the clinic. She has adopted a baby girl whose birth-mother was not able to care for her.

You can join the effort at the Mission Hills clinic, 10200 Sepulveda Blvd., 91345, every Saturday and Tuesday morning from 8 to 10 am. No experience necessary.

With Favor Surrounded 9/13/2014

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12)

Mark, Jack and Razmik were joined by Steve M., Sharon, Barbara, Jeremy, Hugo, Christina, and Steven V., as we brought the Gospel to the sweltering streets of Burbank.

Steve M. and Jack took turns preaching amongst the cacaphony of the AMC mall area. Many different musical distractions with overpowering amps notwithstanding, they gamely shared the Gospel. Sharon, as always, was not slowed down by the noise level.

Meanwhile, down at the corner, Steve and Mark took advantage of the relative quiet to trade off preaching from the box.

When Roger arrived Mark fielded several loaded questions as Steve continued to preach. Then it was Hugo's turn to be introduced to the blend of gnosticism and Baal worship that characterizes Roger's upside down theology.

These young people are listening intently as Barbara shares the Gospel. As always, the Lord was at work in many different ways as tracts, one-to-ones, and calls to repentance and faith in the Son Jesus Christ were made from the box.

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITY - Brother Razmik has patiently suggested that we return to the Glendale area to share the Gospel. Our plan is to meet at a parking structure nearby and then walk together to the crosswalk between the Galleria and the Americana malls. This is a great location, as there is a high volume of foot traffic and a wide sidewalk area from which to preach. We will need plenty of help with tracts on all three corners. As always, we are not sure of our reception, but as far as we can determine there are no ordinances against this. We will discuss plans further when we meet next week in Burbank. Approximate date: 9/27 or 10/4.

The Morning Shift  9/10/2014

The Wednesday morning outreach at North Hollywood Metro Station continues to bring the Gospel to weary commuters in the early hours of the day. Many bibles and tracts in English and Spanish go out every time.

Abortuary Duty  9/13/2014

In an answer to prayer, the Lord provided more laborers. Chris (pictured here) has been out before, but his job on weekends had prevented him from participating for many months. His schedule has changed so he plans to join us on Saturdays. Here he reads aloud from the book of Romans.

Anne was helping us keep watch, and we were also joined by Gor and his wife Arpi. They attend an Armenian Church in Glendale, and they had been referred by our mutual friend Razmik. You can see what they were looking at in the picture below.

Don's wife Loretta stopped by with their dog Rambo to make sure everything was okay.

Several times during the morning shift Don coached Gor on how to talk to the nurses that work at the Abortuary. Three of the nurses are Armenian, and so Gor was able to converse with them in their native language. He pleaded with them to leave this job and find healthcare work which truly helps people.

Taiwan Outreach

Sister Debbie R. took this photo of a street ministry team in the Republic of China. She writes: "This was in Taichung, Taiwan at the night market. They get very little response. The night market is next to a college. There are thousands of people that go to this area nightly. The team of three were very encouraged by the time we spent talking to them. They said that they get very little response from the people."

Sharon suggested that we contact these saints with an encouraging word. An email has been sent. We'll pass along their response. Meanwhile, please keep these folks in prayer. Thanks to Debbie R. for sharing the pictures.

Yielding Fruit 9/6/2014

Thus says the Lord:  Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord. For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when good comes, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land which is not inhabited.
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit. (Jeremiah 17:5-8)

Two new faces were seen among the team regulars; Hugo and Christina. They both received instruction from Mark, and helped with passing out tracts.

Sharon had a nice talk with this family. The Million Dollar bills are always a favorite.

As always, the Holy Spirit was active in evangelism as the Gospel was proclaimed, tracts given out, and one to one divine appointments took place.

Abortuary Duty

Grim Harvester  9/2/2014

It has been very busy at the Mission Hills abortuary lately. On Tuesday, the presence of this truck was a sobering reminder of the squalid fate of the bodies of untold innocent victims.

It is not certain exactly what the contents of this red dumpster, marked "Biohazard," were.

However, it is certain that in one form or another, the terrible carnage is sent away from the facility, whether as waste, or perhaps as perishable commodities to be packaged and sold on some ghoulish marketplace.

Let us pray for an end to this horror, and for God's mercy upon our nation.

Assault Reported  9/6/2014

The black Toyota Prius came charging out of the parking lot, narrowly missing Don who stood to the side of the driveway. "You missed!" Don called out, half-kidding, as this wasn't the first time that's happened. Moments later, the driver of the Prius parked and got out of his car, and headed up the sidewalk. Immediately he started hitting Don in the chest with his fist. Don used his plastic sign as a meager shield, while the man landed at least half a dozen blows. The last two of these were caught on camera. The video will be handed over to the police.

Notably the man, and the woman who was in the car with him, had arrived at the clinic prior to our arrival. We had no contact with him prior to the attack. The police suggested the best explanation:  The woman probably changed her mind about having an abortion, and so he was angry. He decided to vent his anger at God by attacking His witnesses.

Please pray for the Lord to protect the mother and that child, and all the children who are being brought to the abortuary to be murdered.
