With Favor Surrounded 9/13/2014

But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You. For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield. (Psalm 5:11-12)

Mark, Jack and Razmik were joined by Steve M., Sharon, Barbara, Jeremy, Hugo, Christina, and Steven V., as we brought the Gospel to the sweltering streets of Burbank.

Steve M. and Jack took turns preaching amongst the cacaphony of the AMC mall area. Many different musical distractions with overpowering amps notwithstanding, they gamely shared the Gospel. Sharon, as always, was not slowed down by the noise level.

Meanwhile, down at the corner, Steve and Mark took advantage of the relative quiet to trade off preaching from the box.

When Roger arrived Mark fielded several loaded questions as Steve continued to preach. Then it was Hugo's turn to be introduced to the blend of gnosticism and Baal worship that characterizes Roger's upside down theology.

These young people are listening intently as Barbara shares the Gospel. As always, the Lord was at work in many different ways as tracts, one-to-ones, and calls to repentance and faith in the Son Jesus Christ were made from the box.

UPCOMING OPPORTUNITY - Brother Razmik has patiently suggested that we return to the Glendale area to share the Gospel. Our plan is to meet at a parking structure nearby and then walk together to the crosswalk between the Galleria and the Americana malls. This is a great location, as there is a high volume of foot traffic and a wide sidewalk area from which to preach. We will need plenty of help with tracts on all three corners. As always, we are not sure of our reception, but as far as we can determine there are no ordinances against this. We will discuss plans further when we meet next week in Burbank. Approximate date: 9/27 or 10/4.

The Morning Shift  9/10/2014

The Wednesday morning outreach at North Hollywood Metro Station continues to bring the Gospel to weary commuters in the early hours of the day. Many bibles and tracts in English and Spanish go out every time.

Abortuary Duty  9/13/2014

In an answer to prayer, the Lord provided more laborers. Chris (pictured here) has been out before, but his job on weekends had prevented him from participating for many months. His schedule has changed so he plans to join us on Saturdays. Here he reads aloud from the book of Romans.

Anne was helping us keep watch, and we were also joined by Gor and his wife Arpi. They attend an Armenian Church in Glendale, and they had been referred by our mutual friend Razmik. You can see what they were looking at in the picture below.

Don's wife Loretta stopped by with their dog Rambo to make sure everything was okay.

Several times during the morning shift Don coached Gor on how to talk to the nurses that work at the Abortuary. Three of the nurses are Armenian, and so Gor was able to converse with them in their native language. He pleaded with them to leave this job and find healthcare work which truly helps people.

Taiwan Outreach

Sister Debbie R. took this photo of a street ministry team in the Republic of China. She writes: "This was in Taichung, Taiwan at the night market. They get very little response. The night market is next to a college. There are thousands of people that go to this area nightly. The team of three were very encouraged by the time we spent talking to them. They said that they get very little response from the people."

Sharon suggested that we contact these saints with an encouraging word. An email has been sent. We'll pass along their response. Meanwhile, please keep these folks in prayer. Thanks to Debbie R. for sharing the pictures.
