He Has Delivered Us 8/29/2015

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. (Colossians 1:13-20)

Saturday Outreach

Glendale Cruise Night 8/29/2015

Special thanks to Richard, Razmik and Anne who helped to set up and organize the booth. Every year the City of Glendale seeks to improve the Cruise Night experience and this year things seemed better because the flow of foot traffic up and down the Boulevard was non-stop. In spite of the heat, this provided a steady flow of families eager to receive the giant $100 bills and the many other tracts, DVD's and bibles we had to offer.

Many, many one-to-one's took place.

These young man stopped to browse the various items.

Brother Jeremy led the charge in passing out the Giant $100 Bills from Living Waters. These tracts are so popular they practically give themselves away. Every one of them is imprinted with the Calvary Bible Church contact information and website.

This year we distributed at least 5,000 money tracts and approximately 1,500 of the smaller tracts, DVD's and bibles on the table.

Richard did a yeoman's job of manning the booth from 1:00 set-up to 10:30 tear-down. Many others pitched in to serve the Lord joyfully in this exciting outreach.

After a full day of work at his store, Dean joined the effort and tirelessly distributed tracts and kept us all amused with his unique brand of humor and his generous spirit.

Richard was blessed to meet up with a young man who remembered him from last year's Cruise Night, and who brought his family with him to hear Richard's remarkable testimony of God's saving grace. Glory to God!

People do not sin out of ignorance. They sin because they are sinners who love their sin.

This day was marked, at CBC, by the poignant and God-honoring memorial service of young Joanna T. Elder Bob and brother Jack discussed the beautiful service and how the Lord was glorified by it. Please continue to pray for Joanna's family as they look to Christ for healing and comfort.

Nathan, Mark, Jeremy and Richard all delivering the Gospel good news.

The chilled water bottles went quickly in the 100 degree weather.

Another successful outreach to the Glendale Community. Glory to God!

Paul Washer - from an interview with Ligonier Ministries Blog:

Q: What does the church need to hear most in this day and age?

A: First, the ministers of Christ must be utterly convinced that both the conversion of the sinner and the sanctification of the saint are impossible endeavors. They require the supernatural power of God, which is most manifest when the preacher has cut himself off from the arm of the flesh and relies solely upon the raw proclamation of God’s Word, intercessory prayer, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Second, the church most needs to hear who God is and what He has accomplished through Jesus Christ. I believe that even sound and sincere preachers often assume too much about what their flocks understand about God and His gospel. Third, the church not only needs to hear the full counsel of God, but it needs to see it lived out in the men who preach it. We need men who are molded and purified by long hours in the refinery of their study and prayer closet.
