Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. If God is sovereign, has declared the end from the beginning (Isaiah 46:10), doesn't change His mind (Numbers 23:19, Malachi 3:6), already knows what you need (Matt 6:8), and knows what you are going to say before you can even form the words (Psalm 139:4), then why bother praying?
